Understand whether the promotional stake is included in settlement

Many free bets do not return the promotional stake. The difference materially changes the displayed settlement value, while minimum odds, maximum winnings and withdrawal terms may further affect practical value.

FormulaStake not returned value = free bet × (decimal odds − 1). Stake returned value = free bet × decimal odds.

Examples

  • A $20 free bet at 3.00 returns $40 when the stake is not returned.
  • The same inputs return $60 when the promotional stake is returned.

What does stake not returned mean?

The promotional stake is removed at settlement, so only the profit component is credited under the simplified calculation.

Is settlement value the same as withdrawable cash?

Not necessarily. Operator terms may impose further wagering, market, expiry or withdrawal restrictions.
